These are some links to some of the Not-so-free software and services we have talked about at past meetings. Some are introductory offers, others allow you to try their product before you buy or they provide limited functioning products. There are even full applications that are highly recommended by our members:
Commercial/Trial Software
- FeedForAll allows users to easily create, edit and publish RSS feeds for their web pages. RSS is the standard for content distribution and syndication. New RSS feeds can be quickly and easily created with FeedForAll. Advanced features enable you to create professional looking RSS feeds quickly. create feeds, edit rss feeds, and publish news feeds. This product was used to make the RSS feeds for this site.
- Mailwasher Pro will help you block spam before it even reaches your mailbox. You'll be able to delete unwanted messages directly from the mail server thus saving valuable time and bandwidth. Since you can read all your email on the server before it gets to your computer, you'll be better informed about your messages. Bogus links are displayed, you can see who the message is really from, check to see if that email really is a virus or a scam, and shield yourself from offensive pictures. Free 30 day trial

- Time and Chaos is a contact and time management software for Windows users. This personal organizer can help you manage your telephone book, appointment book calendar and to do list. It has an uncrippled free evaluation period and is currently in version 6. This application is highly recommended and used by Jack and several other members of our PC Users group.
- Tweaki Tweaki is a Windows configuration manager. Tweaki provides you with an, easy to use interface for implementing security, locking down your Desktop, tweaking Microsoft Office and optimizing Windows. Tweaki gives you the ability to apply your modifications to remote PCs right over your network. All the features in Tweaki work across all the various Windows operating systems.
- Diskeeper 9.0 is a fast disk defragmenter for Windows. A 30-day free trialware version is available.
- 6.0 Photoshop Adobe has made available for download a 30 day trial evaluation edition of Photoshop and all of its other products.

- DisplayMate DisplayMate is a specialized expert software utility program for adjusting, setting up, tuning-up, calibrating, testing and evaluating computer and video displays, monitors, projectors and even complete video systems. - Snapshot Spy Computer Monitoring Software allows you to secretly monitor the activities that someone makes on your computer. It is great for anyone who owns a PC Video Camera, Camcorder or Capture Card or for anyone who just likes to download videos from the Internet. Any of these can sometimes create jerky videos. With MotionPerfect, you can analyze the video for dropped or duplicate frames and synthesize new frames to replace them or you can increase low frame rate video to a high rate. Services
- AllBooks4Less is a big resource for clearance books, audiocassette books, and software, kind of like a bargain-basement for Amazon.com -- except Amazon doesn't have one. The offerings in some areas are so numerous that it's a pain to have to page through all of them, instead of browsing a
single text-based list like on Amazon. But it can be a great source for bargains, especially if you know what you're looking for, and use their keyword search engine.
- Softwareoutlet.com Closeout and surplus software at bargain prices. Both Jack and Roger recommend it. Looks like a good place to get some bargains on older and " 1 or 2 version back" software programs.
- McAfee Online Freescan McAfee FreeScan helps you detect thousands of viruses on your computer. Based on the award-winning McAfee VirusScan engine, FreeScan searches for viruses, including the latest known "in the wild" viruses, and displays a detailed list of any infected files.
