1) Editor's note.

I have started up the newsletter again after a few months absence. A lot of things were going on at my workplace that kept me from devoting the time and energy that I felt that I needed for the newsletter and for the pcusers.org website. Since both are intertwined with each other and with the vast bulk of e-mail that I recieve, the only practical solution was for me to go "cold turkey" for a few months until things eased up. I appreciate the kind offers to help with the newsletter or website, but I figured the amount of time I would have used to co-ordinate such a venture would have defeated the purpose of taking the time off. You can start sending those articles and links in to me again for inclusion in the newsletter and website! Thanks!

2.0GHz is nice, but saving money's even nicer. The real news from Intel's announcement this week wasn't a faster processor (yawn), but rather significant price cuts to the rest of its Pentium 4 lineup
