1) Public Service

http://www.randomizer.org/form.htm
This site allows you to generate sets of random numbers from a number range. What a great replacement for the old "3 numbers from a dollar bill" method that we use to raffle off door prizes at our 37211 PC Users meetings. Alas! we still do not have a notebook or PC that we can use on a regular basis at our meetings to access the internet or to demonstrate new software. Since we are currently meeting at an unsecurable location the solution to this problem is to either.
- Through purchase, donation, or sponsorship acquire a notebook for the group that can be easily brought to the meeting each month.
- Or find a meeting location that has a securable storage area for a regular PC and will meet our other needs such as meeting time, price, convenient location, etc.
If you can help us in finding the solution to either of the above problems or perhaps even have a unique solution that meets our needs, then e-mail Jack Walleigh at jack.walleigh@home.com .

5) Search Engines

http://www.findsame.com
http://pcusers.org/pcreference.html#search
Findsame.com is a search engine with the ability to search for content, not keywords. You submit an entire document, and it will return a list of Web pages that contain any fragment of that document longer than about one line of text. Enter a URL or paste some text in one of the search boxes, or upload a file. Then click the "search" button and it will show you where on the Web that piece of the text or URL appears. I did a test search using the phrase "Our small informal PC Users Group can help you cut through the confusion of today's computers and software with real world info and answers" and it took about three seconds to show 3 hits for the 37211 PC Users Group page.
